NASS 2012 UpDate

With the weekend’s stellar musical offering all but over, Sunday saw us reach the sharp end of the action sports competitions. Following on from the incredibly high standard of yesterday’s qualifiers the forthcoming actions was sure to get the crowds going as everyone sought to put their name up in lights.

Following Saturday’s frenzied qualification session the already exhilarating skating reached new heights during the Pro Park final.  Brits Joshua Young and veteran Chris Oliver, urged on by the home crowd, placed 3rd and 4th respectively, but it was the irrepressible Charlie Blair who took top spot with his relaxed Cali style wowing the judges.

Over at the  Relentless Energy Drink Street Spots athletes and fans alike basked in the sun. The spots, inspired by the streets of Liverpool, saw some of the weekend’s finest action. Eric Thomas’ frontside feeble tied Tyler Hendley’s colossal hardflip for 3rd, whilst Lukas Danek’s kickflip to frontside boardslide down the big rail saw him claim 2nd.  However, it was the Chilean Braulio Sagas who was crowned champion having stuck a frontside smith grind down the kinked rail.
