One For The Calender... August 2012
Each weekend in August, the Notts Property team are proud to introduce to you a variety of street art, urban art and graffiti events featuring over 100 artists across 8 venues in Nottingham.
We are pleased to have Dems333 (Spain) and Sunk (Holland) along with many other artists coming over to Nottingham for this event.
SAT 4TH: Notts Property Festival kicks off with an outdoor event at the Hopkinson Vintage Centre where local, national and international graffiti artists will be painting the walls of the Hopkinson building. Come down to this fantastic daytime event and watch the artists work their magic on the walls. There will also be food, music, a kid’s chalk wall, plus lots of bargains to be had at Hopkinson Vintage Centre.
FRI 10TH: A total change of medium and styles with a solo show by artist James Huyton with a series of 26 typographic screen prints at Antenna Media Centre.
SAT 11TH: A selection of artists (hosted by Subism) will be adding their own unique visuals to shop windows in the Hockley area. Enjoy live drawing on your walk around Hockley and take a look in the shops themselves.
SUN 12TH: BBQ and beats at Broadway and Mimm, featuring work from Tekonta Secta.
SAT 18TH: We are pleased to be involved in the RedBull Academy Sound System at Nottingham Carnival by painting a wall specially made as part of the daytime events. Come down to check out live painting plus lots of other great activities at the Carnival.Sun 26th:
A Graffiti jam at the legendary Russells Youth Centre is set for the bank holiday Sunday where all of the walls will be re-painted by over 20 artists.
FRI 31ST: Notts Property Festival closes with live painting from 2pm in the beer garden at The Lion pub in New Basford. Start the weekend early with some great art, music and a selection of great ales not to be missed.
OTHER THINGS GOING ON IN AUGUST:
Various artists will be painting the Switch Studios billboard (where Huntingdon St meets Mansfield Rd).Switch Studios pop-up events and solo show in the Switch Gallery from Toddjerms.
