Hang Outs... London

It's sex, samurais, exotic goddesses, rappers, guns and money. But Ravi Zupa uses his passionate visual vocabulary to send messages of compassion.

Like the 'lowbrow' modern surrealist movement's answer to mash-up kings Faile, Zupa uses all manner of artistc processes to create images that seem appropriated, but are actually painted, drawn and printed by his own hand. Rooted in history, sorcery, spirituality and sexuality his colourful and engaging mixed-media pieces are garnering widespread acclaim.

'Nothing Teaches Needs' also features the creepiest marionettes you'll ever witness. So start 2012's cultural calendar in especially rewarding fashion.
