Holy smoke it's out again already and not before time either...

Issue 18 of UK Magazine Very Nearly Almost can be seen on the streets now.
We like to see an artist's studio and the front cover of VNA shows you just that. With Conor Harrington's vibrant and colourful work space, with various and numerous canvases leaning against the walls  plus a wholesome collection of paint brushes and the essential PG Tips to keep him focussed!

Contents:
Oliver Vrancken: Abstract, pastel shades art.
Remi Rough: Quote: "It's a rebellious art form for God's sake! You can do whatever you want".
Mode 2: Worshiping the female form.
Shoe: Broom Calligraphy and paint balls.
Conor Harrington: Great works but needs a studio with rubber walls to fit more canvases in by the looks.
Shannon Crees: Intricate street art, female forms in Sydney, Australia.
ATP Poster Art: Does what it says on the... umm.
Shawn Barber: Tattoos, larger than life itself.
Ronzo: ..."from creatures holding spray cans glued to traffic islands through to huge cockroaches riding pizza delivery mopeds".

Phew, loads on there as you can see!

The publication as usual, is packed to the gunnels with interviews, pics and city street visits to feast your hungry orbs upon.

Flesh Cut Fridays With Luci Westphal

A day in the life of the Manhattan skyline as seen from a window in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Time lapse of an unexpectedly cloudless April 4th.

Thank you to Meghan Scibona (SMXL) for letting me stay at her placed glued to the window from 5:45am to 10:30pm (and making delicious food) and to Scott Colthorp (Atmosphere Pictures) for lending me his fancy Canon 5D + time lapse rig and Scott Solary (Good Hard Working People) for everything else (including lending me his laptop when mine just couldn't cut it anymore).

I'm not really sure what is causing all the little bumps - it almost seems like it was on auto-focus and kept readjusting, which it wasn't. I threw in the zoom in post, so that didn't have anything to do with it.

If you have been following the Collective for a while then you will know that we love to get into artist's studios to find out what's what. We find it gives us a better idea as to where the thought processes for a piece of work are formulated and converted from the mind to the canvas (depending on their chosen media of course). These spaces are often very personal and private places, so we feel very privileged and it become's almost a spiritual experience to be let into their inner sanctum.

We are also fortunate to be able to meet artists from all over the World. In this post we called in on a Hollywood local and the Prince of Pink; Buff Monster... enjoy☋

Greetings!

Well, it's been quite the crazy week here at Spoke HQ and we're currently gearing up for an even crazier weekend as Spoke Art Gallery has three amazing events happening throughout the Bay Area on both Thursday and Friday night.

This Thursday, April 5th in San Francisco:
Join us for the debut of our new solo show with award winning illustrator and artist Nimit Malavia at our San Francisco gallery space.

Then, on Friday, April 6th in Oakland:
Celebrate our special month long pop up exhibit, "Dead Rockstars" at the Oakland Art Murmur. Come hang out with us at the historic Castro Theatre where we'll be debuting the first print in our ongoing and exclusive partnership! First up, "City of Lost Children" !!!

Factory Fresh

Three of the Collective Crew, Tempora, JN and Rad Dad hit a new venue recently. We didn't manage to get any graffin done a part from a small' key fob car 'we found in a corner. We slapped on some eyes,  lashes and a tag and went for a further explore in the building.

Some other grafter took 'first blood' on a single wall but there is loads more space to choose from.
