He is now an established author and street art historian having written two editions of Children of the Can and lectures and teaches street art.
Madiba
Mandela by artist Felix (FLX) Braun celebrates the life of Nelson
'Madiba' Mandela and evokes the memory of a young Mandela as a
revolutionary firebrand. Madiba was Mandela's clan name by which South
Africans referred to him and the name that hundreds of thousands pf
people chanted when Mandela passed away in December 2013.
The
print echoes the style of political posters from the 1960s whose potent
messages were delivered using the rough-and-ready graphics, printed
cheaply on makeshift screens, the inks pulled through hand-cut stencils.
This
is a signed limited edition of 100 A2 prints (42cm x 59.4cm) issued
through the People's Republic of Stokes Croft. All profits go to PRSC.
Felix Braun is also the author of Children of the Can: An A-Z of Bristol Graffiti and Street Art
