Off The Shelf

Upfest The Urban Paint Festival
Authors: Paul Green, Jody Thomas
Publishers: Tangent

It is said that Bristol, UK is the creative capital of the England and since Upfest started in 2008 has been host to 550 artists from 50 countries. This 145 page book features five years worth of photographer Paul Green's shots, he picks up on moments of 'class a' quality. Close-ups of artists at work, their techniques, vibrancy of colour, variation of design and pure visual delight. We couldn't leave this publication alone and it was a dash to the bookshelves each lunchtime for many of the staff, so they could have a turn to check it out. Of course some were luckier than others and did a review on it... no names

Full of some of the best painters in the biz like:
45RPM
Famous When Dead
Dirty30
Faunagraphic
Fingerfood
Cheo
Jody
FLX
Inkie
Boswell
Foundry
... and tons more.

It's flawless - throw it on the coffee table and visitors won't put it down...

thanks to Izzy at Leicester HQ Gallery for participating in this shoot.

  1. Hey,

Thanks for reviewing the book. Putting it together involved a lot of hard work from everyone & it's always nice to hear that people have enjoyed it.

    Huge thanks should go out to;

The UpFest crew who drove the project,
Jody whose brilliant design skills rival his painting skills & it's his work that really makes my photos sing,
Tangent Books for getting this thing printed,
& of course all the artists who came along every year to paint on walls.

    Cheers,

    Paul
